The book was first published in 1981, by Italian artist and architect Luigi Serafini. For those familiar with the Codex Seraphinianus, it is essentially an encyclopedia for an alternate universe. The artwork is reminiscent of the French animated film Fantastic Planet (le planet savage I believe in the original), some images vaguely familiar to us, others near indecipherable.
