Peripelvic renal cyst is the one which is originating from renal sinus 6. This kind of cyst is different from the one, which is originating from the renal cortex. Usually, the renal cyst is a perirenal one, but peripelvic renal cyst is mostly inside the kidney or renal sinus. So peripelvic renal cyst is difficult to treat from the renal surface.

Peripelvic cysts of the kidney may be defined as cysts which are situated in the hilus of the kidney, intimately associated with the renal pelvis and calyces. They may be simple or multiloculated, single or multiple. Unlike the common simple cysts of the kidney parenchyma, peripelvic cysts are not buried within the renal parenchyma nor are they present as a mass in either pole or along the

Parapelvic cysts are usually solitary, originating from renal parenchyma and protruding into the sinus. Because of the hypoechoic character by ultrasonography and the special location in the renal sinus, parapelvic cysts are often misdiagnosed as hydronephrosis . These cysts are found in the cortex and medulla and typically are 1–2 mm in diameter. At CT, the cysts appear as multiple tiny hypoattenuating lesions .

They are usually single or few and resemble simple renal cortical cyst in morphology. Peripelvic cysts should not be confused with hydronephrosis, or parapelvic cyst.

Parapelvic cysts are uncommon conditions that are usually found during autopsy. Their ultrasonographic appearance is similar to hydronephrosis. We report the case of a 46-year-old female with a 4-year history of vague flank pain and a previous history of bilateral moderate hydronephrosis. The patient was investigated by ultrasonography and non-enhanced CT scan, and finally diagnosed as

Materials and methods: A total of 73 patients were diagnosed as having parapelvic renal cysts by ultrasonography, in combination with computed tomography, and/or drip infusion urography in our Department. Cysts develop in 4-6 weeks - usually decrease in size over time - sometimes enlarge or become infected. Found in any part of the pancreas or anywhere within the abdomen and sometimes even in the chest. The CT demonstrates a large cyst in the upper abdomen in a patient who had an acute pancreatitis (Fig).

Two cases are described where the initial sonogram suggested the diagnosis of pelvicalyceal obstruction, and on subsequent intravenous urography the correct diagnosis of

The peripelvic cysts and those at the corticomedullary junction follow the pattern of larger lymphatics draining the kidney through the renal pedicle. Peripelvic cysts of the kidney occur rarely, they are usually small in size and most cases have been noted by pathologists as incidental findings at necropsy. In only a few cases have these cysts caused clinical symptoms, and these were usually large cysts tending to distend the abdomen; their perinephric origin was in most cases recognized only on the operating table or at necropsy. (i) parapelvic cysts: originating in the renal parenchyma extending into, and primarily expanding within, the renal sinus, and (ii) peripelvic cysts: originating in sinus structures which presumably represent mostly lymphatic collections. If one finds echolucent structures in the renal sinus, which points argue for renal sinus cysts?
